About
I am Bennie Wel, a retail trader based in Europe (UTC+2) mainly trading the DAX using the methodologies of Tom Hougaard. This website serves as a comprehensive library of my trading system, founded on the principle of transparency: seeking together to grow individually.
I have initiated The Desk, a free, open-source community designed to connect fellow traders, facilitate the exchange of experience, and bridge the gap between theory and execution.

Philosophy
Darwin’s 'survival of the fittest' is often misinterpreted as a mandate for secrecy in trading. Yet, the etymological root of competition is competere—to 'seek together.' In nature, fitness is frequently a product of social learning and shared adaptation. When we treat strategies as purely proprietary, we risk the 'isolationist’s trap': like monkeys refusing to share the location of a well, we may protect our secrets only to succumb to a lack of collective resources. Evolution proves that those who learn together, survive together.
These thoughts come from coversation with a good friend; I have to give proper credit to.
Ultimately, success in trading requires individual effort; no amount of information—whether free or paid—can substitute for the 'reps' required to master the craft.

You don't need more 'strategies' than the Expresso (+ Karaoke Expresso) and School Run Strategy on the DAX to be a profitable trader. These documents are based on research from experienced traders. You need better execution, risk management and emotional control.
These techniques are educational interpretations inspired by Trader Tom
and Karaoke Andi. I am independent and not officially affiliated with them.
Secret Sauce
There is no secret sauce in trading, dispite what people are trying to sell you online. If anything, you'd be the secret sauce. Pulling an edge out of the market requires three non-negotiable pillars: execution, risk management, and flawless emotional control.
(1) execution: Anyone can click "buy" and open a position. The real skill is knowing when and how to exit. Two traders can take the exact same setup with the exact same size, and end up with entirely different results based purely on their exits. Here is where historical data could come in handy, in order to build a theoretical thesis around your trade. Together with positive variance, and long-term expectancy; chances of succeeding start increasing.
(2) risk management: a crucial aspect of trading is deciding when to cut your losses and be cautious, and when to press on the gas and add to your winners. Proper risk management differentiates a profitable trader from someone who dies trying.
(3) emotional control: The most overlooked pillar, and the hardest to master. You must execute fearlessly, without a shred of hesitation, while maintaining total tranquility, every single trade. Trading is high-performance sport; the moment you lose your mental clarity, the market will take your money.
Mastering these three pillars is what separates you from the 73.1% of retail traders who fail. It takes brutal, daily work to build a sustainable, profitable edge. No excuses, no shortcuts.
